The accident happened just three days after the territory’s transportation department raised the allowable weight on the Great Bear Ice Crossing from 10,000 kilograms to 40,0000 [you have got to be kidding; N].

They increased the allowable load by a factor of FOUR?!? It seems the territory needs to hire some structural engineers (or at least people who passed AP physics in high school) before next winter.
