  1. I wonder if Beyond the Brick would consider this an MOC (My Own Creation).

  2. There are probably things that have been more awesome than this, but I'm not thinking of any right now.

  3. Jason Wiley Most of it was planning. I had to figure out a way to connect the blade to the hilt that was strong enough but still thin enough so that the blade wasn't too thick. Took a fairly significant purchase from LEGO's Pick-A-Brick store to get all the pieces I needed, including 97 of those 2x1x2/3 light gray roof pieces for the edges.

  4. For future reference, bricklink.com has more selection and is usually cheaper than going to Lego's Pick-A-Brick.

  5. Jeremy Nixon Thanks...will remember that. I've only started getting back into LEGOs the past year or so as my son became old enough for me to have an excuse. <:-D

  6. Wow - that is amazing!

But you know what you need, in addition to a Rock? A Lady.

  7. When I told my wife I was going to start on a full-size LEGO shield with the family heraldry on it, she simply said "No." and walked out of the room. ;-)

  8. Oh dear, Craig Froehle. What's her problem? Sheesh.

  9. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony.

...You can't expect to wield supreme power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you!

...I mean, if I went 'round saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

  10. Thank you, Wendy Cockcroft. My daughter (8) just wandered past the office and asked what I was laughing at. :-D

  11. You'll be all set when your kids are old enough for Lego robotics programs in their school.

  12. I'm circling Wendy Cockcroft with a vengeance and putting her in the "special" circle!
