Spent part of today with the kids sorting some of our LEGO bricks to go into a bin organizer (a repurposed garage hardware drawer job) to make finding those specialty parts a little easier. Not the funnest task, but looking forward to easier future builds.

  2. You're making a rod for your own back, I fear.  Fishing through giant tubs looking for a tiny piece is what slows the activity down and keeps them from asking for the next game too soon.

  3. Aaron Wood It is emergent, so none I can recommend yet. ;-)

Peter Billing I build right along with them, so we all benefit.

  4. I struggle to get a look in with my two.  Every piece I grab is the very one they need right now :)

  6. Can you really fit all those parts in one bin organiser?

  8. Good luck! Are they still on summer vacation or back to school yet?

The only Lego parts we've sorted was a box for the people and anything the people hold, then two huge bins like you have for everything else.

  9. I saw a #LEGO  design  on youtube for an automatic LEGO sorter.  I think it only did posts, but still...

  11. Minor setback: The sorting bin we bought at Lowe's is a piece of crap. The worst part about is that it uses these tabs on the frame that hang down inside each drawer to prevent you from pushing the drawer back out the open back. Those tabs get hung up on the LEGO bricks and it just doesn't work well at all. So, I'll be returning the sorting bin and looking for another. Any suggestions?
