Sometimes, when looking at things like the Elves line, I wonder if LEGO will ever truly understand what my daughter wants out of its toys.

  1. yeah, sums it up perfectly.

I SO wanted that Research Institute set but I was unable to get it and NOW they have "retired" it!!

    WTF?

    why retire something so wonderful?
Scientists who happen to be women is EXACTLY what WE (people like me) want!

we WANT to be adventurers, scientists, astronauts, etc

  3. So spot on. Now that is great design. Simplicity...

And one more block too. How appropriate for a post on Lego.

  4. My daughter got mildly harassed at school when she told her classmates that she went to Legoland.

Legos are a toy, not a "boys" toy or a "girls" toy.  WTF kids?

  5. One of my mantras in the Formula 1 Community is MORE WOMEN IN RACING!

Believe me, I suffered a similar fate due to wearing glasses.  I've told my daughter that the best way to take that negativity is to do what I do; turn "you can't" into "I just did".

  11. Well, there is one thing wrong with the comic. LEGO is never a waste of money. :)

  12. Shawn H Corey I think she was implying that LEGO wasted its development funds coming up with something few people want.

That said, while I certainly believe LEGO has a long way to go before it really groks girl customers, the Friends line has been quite a hit. So it's not all bad...just not all good.
