Volkswagen admitted it lied

Volkswagen admitted it lied
To skirt regulations it tried
Its cars are so purty
But run kinda dirty
Its shame is now known far and wide

  1. It was a car for the people,
    Er, confession under a steeple.
    Their stock really did tank,
    For the emissions prank.
How sad to be so damn deceitful!

  3. Did they practice similar tactic in India too...., because consumer awareness and consumer law is very weak in India and can be exploited very easily

  4. VW dissing American law
Using tech to hide emissions flaws.
    At the risk of invoking

  5. Volkswagon committed a crime,
And now people comment in rhyme.
    Those seeking remissions,
    From dirty emissions,
Should find better use for their time!

(Sorry... I just couldn't resist. ;-) But seriously, clearly Volkswagon felt that this was necessary/desirable from a business point of view at the time. Was that just stupidity, or was it a case that they believed it was the only way to compete with other manufacturers - possibly because they perform similar shenanigans?)
