Many of those companies deserve all the abuse that we can heap on them (looking at you in particular, VW and ExxonMobil). But I actually agree with some of the comments about airlines. They're a necessary part of the global infrastructure; people and goods need to be transported. As an industry, they're not wildly profitable; many are running at the ragged edge of bankruptcy. They're using the fuels that are available to them in 2015; they'd switch to more environmentally friendly fuels tomorrow if they existed.
