We live in the middle of Vancouver, and the park at the end of our block occasionally has a whole family of coyotes in residence. Singing practice at 2am.
We have a small pack of them living in the woods just 100 feet from the back door. It's the half mile wide strip following the river, but that also means they are only about a mile and a half from the city core. I heard them take something down a couple weeks back, might have been a young deer.
We (humans) need more non-human predators in our midst, if only to remind us that we are not the only entities who have an interest in the future of the planet.
Also, be very cautious about driving into tunnels.
ReplyDeleteI am seeing tons of rabbits in my city... That is probably contributing to drawing them in.

ReplyDeleteIn other news, feral cats are on the decline.
