When we let politics trump science, people are needlessly put in harm's way. http://arstechnica.com/science/2017/01/self-censoring-fears...
There is only one answer
ReplyDeleteI don't play any games but I did work for gtech. And we were advised to always use gaming instead of gambling.
ReplyDeleteNow, is this the time of "gaming" I prefer? No. I play more board games than anything else. But I still think of video games when I hear "gaming."
ReplyDeleteI know more people who talk about Vegas than I do people who talk about video games. Maybe I should adjust my contact list.
ReplyDeleteAlthough lately I see it more in the phrase "gaming the system"...
ReplyDeleteThe word "gaming" in isolation? Video games, by far.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard the phrase "board gaming" before...
I think tabletop roleplaying games. But I'm a bit of a dork.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, my default would be tabletop, but of the options here, video gaming best fits as I use it for both interchangeably.
ReplyDeleteTabletop RPG
ReplyDeleteDefault for me would be video gaming.
ReplyDeleteBut, I also did procurement for GE Security, and a big customer base is casinos. So, I heard gaming pretty frequently there.
Context is key though. There are people gaming the system. To me that makes me think of federal contracting, politicians, shady employers, etc.
ReplyDeleteBoard gaming is a close second, though.
ReplyDeleteIn the context of policy, gambling.
ReplyDeleteWhen spoken by folks in my circles, role-playing games, mostly. I seldom hear the term in the context of video games; playing yes, but not gaming.
It all depends the context.
ReplyDeleteI too think of tabletop games but Video games is what the other person is usually talking about.
ReplyDeleteYeah, sorry, I should have said "tabletop" gaming to include RPGs on the first choice.
