I really wish I could have instruction I could understand because I love the martial arts. Being too deaf for classes and too poor for personal attention for something not covered by insurance is a barrier no one seems to want to destroy. I will continue to stick with wax on wax off LOL
William Stolley Thanks! I started this journey in April, 2014, so it's been about two-and-a-half years of regular practice. No idea if I'll make it to black belt...I'm getting older pretty fast these days. ;-)
Craig Froehle I have a cousin (more like an uncle) with a black belt. There is a physical competence that emanates from him that is very rare in my experience.
John Wehrle I know some martial arts black belts who have a hard time walking down a flight of stairs without falling, but I know some other black belts who could probably levitate if they put their will into it. It's a dramatic spectrum.
Craig Froehle Yeah, because it's hard to walk up the stairs gracefully when your pants keep sliding off. That's why you need to poke some holes in that belt and add a buckle.
Congrats!
ReplyDeleteJohn Wehrle Thankee!
ReplyDeleteBTW, here's my school's belt progression:

ReplyDeleteCraig Froehle Congrats!
ReplyDeleteUseless. My belt is also brown, but it has holes so that it can be buckled.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, and well done!
ReplyDeleteSteve S lol funny... belts don't work for me - suspenders do. lol
ReplyDeleteBut this is a fine accomplishment :)
Most people don't realize how long it takes to achieve a brown belt and the work that goes into achieving that. Congratulations
