I just wanted to let you know that I will not be able to make it to class today due to an interview at 2:00pm. Please let me know if I am missing anything by not attending today's class.
Thanks
#####
#####,
Are you missing anything?
Please watch the podcast of the lecture since we’ll be discussing rather important issues.
Good luck on your interview.

ReplyDeleteCraig Froehle I hope that interview is worth it.
ReplyDeleteIf I know I'm going to be absent for a class, I always revise the syllabus to check what's being covered on that day. Then I simply study it in the textbook 👍.
ReplyDeleteThere's a podcast!?!
ReplyDeleteBrad McClaren We record every class session and I make them available shortly after the class ends. I don't mind students missing class. I do mind students sending me stupid (because they're inadvertently insulting) emails.
ReplyDeleteThe Rogue Prince Where we're going, we don't need textbooks.
ReplyDeleteSeriously...there's no reading for this class session...it's pure Froehle. :-D
Craig Froehle I miss lecture classes. Mathematics and chemistry are grounding me in textbooks....and Pearson -.-
ReplyDelete"Hi, I'm a very busy and important student with job prospects in the real world so please tell me if I need to scan today's podcast, THX BYE"
ReplyDeleteI'd love to listen to one, regardless of subject. Learning is a lot more fun when your future isn't entirely dependant on it.
ReplyDeleteThe snark is strong with this one.
ReplyDeleteC'mon, Craig Froehle, educate us unwashed masses!
ReplyDeleteBrad McClaren You are welcome to pay tuition so you can access my lectures. ;-) #poorstatecollegesneedmoney
ReplyDeleteRay of Sunshine Like you need a podcast to do that??
ReplyDeleteI need an education to afford that!
ReplyDeleteThat said, all of my local colleges will allow me to sit in on one class. Theoretically I could get a degree, just without the paper and over a very long time.
ReplyDeleteSome institutions make many or most of their classes available online, but not all of them do.
ReplyDeleteBrad McClaren Actually, I wouldn't mind making the podcasts public, but we can't do that for at least two reasons: (a) student privacy...their questions and comments are audible on the recording; and (b) it's a tuition-based service. Even if (b) wasn't an issue, (a) arguably still would be.
ReplyDeleteThat's okay, you can always do an example during the summer. You should at least ask the kids if they wouldn't mind testing one out. See Veritasium, for instance.
