  2. Lactaid or other lactose-free milk is pretty good. Lactaid even has a cottage cheese.

  3. Or don't want to risk things like IDDM/Type 1 diabetes, osteoporosis, or several autoimmune diseases. 🙂

  6. I'm over six feet and I avoided milk like the plague when I was a kid so I guess I'm a negative example. I suppose if this is true and I'd consumed more milk when I was younger, maybe I'd be even taller. My brother, on the other hand, drank it in mass quantities but he's an inch shorter. Maybe cow's milk actually retards growth.

I still avoid milk, except maybe for some half-and-half in my coffee and an occasional bowl of breakfast cereal. I'm not lactose intolerant: my digestive system handles cow's milk with no problem. I just don't care for the stuff.

No accounting for taste, I guess.

  7. I'm 6ft 4 and had a pint of milk for breakfast virtually every day when I was growing up. Must have worked for me.

  12. 6ft 1, was allergic to milk until around 3. Still hated it after that, cant stand to drink it alone, etc. Good thing I have my almond milk these days for when I get a cereal craving.

  13. My cats don't like almond milk.

When I was still trying to be lactose-free back in the 80s, I actually found more fake-milk ice cream-like products than I do now, and some were pretty good.
But almond milk, soy milk, rice milk were hard to find. I tried coconut milk on my Grapenuts, but back then I could only find it with pineapple added: weird breakfasts resulted.
