So I finally got a chance to watch Baby Driver, last year's music-filled heist/romance flick, and this 1959 Chevy Impala convertible shows up twice. It had the same coloring -- white over red -- as my dad's car, so I texted him about it in case he hadn't seen the movie. Turns out it IS his car...they used it for the filming. Crazy coincidences...gotta love 'em.
Oh wow, that's insane.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't completely sure what to expect; I liked it.
I frankly failed to see why this movie was hyped. It was fairly entertaining and that's it.
ReplyDeleteSordatos Cáceres Entertaining is pretty much what you hope for from a movie, no?

Awesome!
ReplyDeleteIt was a really entertaining movie, and that's an amazing that they used his car for filming. That is a fantastic looking car.
ReplyDeleteJim Douglas Sure, but 93%?
ReplyDeleteSordatos Cáceres That number says that 93% of the critics included in their ranking had an essentially positive impression of the movie. Roger Ebert said that he evaluated individual movies on their own terms, based on what they were trying to achieve. If a movie set out to be a straightforward entertainment, and achieved that goal, he was happy with it.

That’s nifty! I found the movie to be a pleasant surprise. Not st all what I expected. And I was especially happy that they made the WRX in the opening chase scene sound correct.
ReplyDeleteSordatos Cáceres I thought it started well, and felt pretty compelling and original. And about 1/3 of the way through it ran out of ideas and became thin and cliched.
ReplyDeleteDavid Archer Yeah.... For the car chases and thrills, I prefer Ronin
ReplyDeleteSordatos Cáceres We've been enjoying a lot of disappointment in "popular" films lately. Don't get me started on "Three Billboards."
ReplyDeleteHoly crap. That's really cool. This kind of thing is not unusual if you live in Los Angeles, but you don't.
ReplyDeleteDavid Archer Really? Sounded good to me... Im planing to watch The Phantom Thread.. I have rarely been disappointed by movie that involves Day-Lewis not only because his performance, but because he obviously know how to chose a script (I would definitely watch recommendations made by him xD)
ReplyDeleteSordatos Cáceres There is a handful of actors that I'll watch in pretty much anything. DDL is one of them, Tom Hardy is another.
ReplyDeleteDavid Archer His portrayal of Obama was uncanny.

Jim Douglas lol! That gene therapy is the mark of a True Artist.
ReplyDeleteThat is freaky cool Craig Froehle
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome.
