FTA: "Much like other issues concerning climate change, Thornalley say preventing the AMOC slowdown depends on reducing greenhouse gas emissions."
What are YOU doing to help that? Are you working to get environmentally responsible politicians elected? Are you driving an electric car? Are you reducing your fossil fuel-based power consumption? Are you helping spread the word and educate your fellow humans about the calamity that climate change represents?

When we let politics trump science, people are needlessly put in harm's way. http://arstechnica.com/science/2017/01/self-censoring-fears...
We sow the seeds of our own destruction....
ReplyDeleteGood old President Trump who doesn't believe in climate change. First he kills the Paris Accords, then he wants to increase coal production, and now he wants to kill former President Obama's restrictions on engine emission controls because they are "an unfair burden on the auro industry". Who knows..in future years China's air pollution will look like America now. And America will have the air pollution of today's China. We can make America great again.....by voting smarter next time.
ReplyDeleteBill H yet it is the responsibility of a voter to educate themselves to vote intelligently. Which means research and understand reality from half-truths, insinuations, and lies. Anyone who researched could see where the BS was thickest. True it was a choice between"horrible" and "oh God we are screwed". Hell even the Birthers couldn't get it right. It is not a matter of where you are born but rather it is if one of your parents has American citizenship.
ReplyDeleteBill H The corrupt party this time was the Democratic Party when they purposely did their best to kill the Sanders Option...which they admitted to. They should have seen the writing on the wall as far as what the American people wanted. Can't say that Sanders would have won...but he was a better match up against Trump. Your right..many voters do not research or as you say "heart on their sleeves". But the American voter needs to remember another saying: "you snooze....you lose" and that means 4 more years of stupidity simply because they were to lazy to educate themselves. The greatest gift to Americans is the right to vote. As President Kennedy said: "ask not what your country can do for you, but rather ask what can you co for your country". Voting intelligently is the greatest thing we can do for our country. I see so many time people bitching about Washington or the policies coming out of it. Yet when asked how they voted..they say they didn't vote or they voted straight party. Those are the people who are the greatest threat to America....not corporations. We are living in the day and age where intelligent decisions for the health of our planet are paramount. These are the days where no matter the cost...we need to do what is right for the planet and not what is right for our wallet. Another thing Bill...look up "Planetary Carrying Capacity"...and then look at the present and projected growth rate of our species.
ReplyDeleteKenneth Schmandt Blaming Democrats for Trump gets you blocked immediately. I don't put up with horseshit on my posts.
ReplyDeleteBill H I don't argue with Berniebros, who were so gullible and blinded by ideology as to believe Russian and GOP propaganda that they helped the white supremacists and the xenophobes and the toxically greedy give us Trump. I've wasted too much breath already trying to "coach" people like him in the past. And for the record, telling me how to run my own posts is a quick way to get yourself uninvited.
