It feels like a long shot, but why not? It might work. Trump has been working hard to supply them with evidence that his administration is recklessly disregarding environmental concerns in its zeal to funnel cash to the fossil fuel industry. And this note is fascinating; it says the Obama administration did everything in its power in its final weeks to bolster the kids' case.

ReplyDeletePitchforks, tars and feather should be the weapons of choice, not trust in a system that has already been completely undermined by those who profit most from disenfranchising the law from the people's will.
The function of the Supreme (or any) Court is to interpret the Constitutionality of laws written by Congress. The laws must align with popular demand, and popular demand is expressed through the ballot box. Prioritize the high leverage activity.

ReplyDeleteAnother blatant New Age Movement maneuver. I have a huge collection of books from the early 80s saying if we didn't do exactly what they said, we would have a NEW ICE AGE. Then a few mild winters later, if we didn't do exactly as they said GLOBAL WARMING. Then some very cold winters again and CLIMATE CHANGE -- hard to lose with that one. There are those who wish to control all of us, drastically reduce the population and will lyingly manipulate the kids through their highly funded endeavors to really ruin it for us all! This is a very sad development!

Starting as early as the 19th century, scientists have been writing about the greenhouse effect and the possibility that we were warming the earth by burning fossil carbon. It took a long time for the evidence to accumulate, and as late as the 1970s a small minority of articles considered the possibility that we might be offsetting the warming effects with other pollution we were emitting. But the vast majority of articles, even in the 1970s, calculated that the warming effect of CO2 vastly exceeded the marginal cooling effect of other pollution. In recent decades, the evidence has become incontrovertible: The planet (air and oceans) is warming at an unprecedented rate, and we are the cause.

Constance Cumbey The thing about science is that it is never static. The more we learn in the STEM world, tells us that there is always more to learn. Discoveries are rarely dead ends, and theories are forever refined. It is not that some people resist change, as much as they resist being changed. There was an old saying in the submarine community, a dangerous environment and my first career, "believe your indicators and your data." If you review the attached website on a frequent basis, you will develop an appreciation for the continuous progress in STEM.

ReplyDeleteConstance Cumbey In that case, all of the Climate Change disasters are God's fault, the droughts, floods, famine and pestilence, and Humanity has no responsibility or impact whatsoever. That would also mean that God is to blame for all the other air and water pollution on the planet, as well, since God supposedly created Humanity. I will grant you that God might be in charge of the Big Picture, but she gave Humanity the ability to destroy the planet with technology and bad choices. We broke it, therefore, we own it.
