Not Canadian! That's a US Liberty Head nickel. Super cool find! I've only found a couple Indian Head pennies in circulation --- both times on the ground outdoors --- but none this old. en.wikipedia.org - Liberty Head nickel - Wikipedia
I once had a German Kreuzer coin from 1890. Deposited it somewhere where I can't find it anymore. Probably I left it home when I moved out some two decades ago. Have to check the next time visiting homeland.

ReplyDeleteWow is right!
ReplyDeleteIn this terrible condition, it looks to be worth somewhere around $0.50 to $1.00 ;-D
ReplyDeleteCraig Froehle It's still cool to own!
ReplyDeleteYeah, we're not big on the word "liberty" in Canada, for some reason.
ReplyDeleteDavid Archer Canadia hates the US for our liberty. Fox News says so.
ReplyDeleteCraig Froehle A United Statesian would freak out if they were suddenly transported to a country with actual liberty. I know this from experience.
ReplyDeleteCraig Froehle But O Canada is the True North Strong and Free!!!! ;')
