Bill Gates, the world's most successful entrepreneur and capitalist, believes capitalism will not and cannot address climate change on its own. I think he's right. Far too many corporations are managed as short-term profit factories, whereas any long-term venture with an unsure payout is likely going to have to be undertaken by the public sector. Of course, ideally, we'd have both working on it, because that maximizes our likelihood of success.
