And we wonder why education is in trouble in the US?

And we wonder why education is in trouble in the US?

Teachers shouldn't get raises because......bible.....something....something....

Regarding teacher pay, McGill said: "It's a Biblical principle. If you double a teacher's pay scale, you'll attract people who aren't called to teach. To go in and raise someone's child for eight hours a day, or many people's children for eight hours a day, requires a calling.  It better be a calling in your life. I know I wouldn't want to do it, OK?"

  1. A senator paid in six figures haws
That teaching our children is a calling, a cause
Without a calling, he says you can't teach
And so, without fuss I humbly beseech
That he shouldn't hold office or make any laws

  3. If you double a CEO's salary, you'll attract people who aren't called to lead. Therefore, I call for a cap on CEO salaries. Because the Bible told me so.

  8. This is a bit old. Shadrack (Yes that is his name) did not get re elected...even in Alabama. Now we are trying to give teaches a pay raise...but they have to give up tenue to get it... And our governor just suggesting raiding our education fund of about 180 million dollars to transfer over to our general budget, so we don't have to raise taxes. But on the plus side you can buy a house down here for 60,000 dollars...
