I am sick to death of hearing politicians say we can't afford to shift from fossil fuels to sustainable energy sources as fast as possible. Money isn't going to mean a thing if we don't have oceans, rivers, and plains that can sustain enough life to feed humanity. And that's where we're headed at this rate.

When we let politics trump science, people are needlessly put in harm's way. http://arstechnica.com/science/2017/01/self-censoring-fears...
Can't have an 'Economy' without an 'Ecology'
ReplyDeleteTrue words, very true. I wish it were different.
ReplyDeleteOfficials are so out of touch it's disgraceful! Bet they'd find Money for a Conflict or their pet project!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo panic! All these shall happen before the Messianic era. More hope.
ReplyDeleteIt's not as though climate change is free of costs.

ReplyDelete"Officials are so out of touch..."
It is not really them being out of touch...
They are rewarded for spewing out corporate funded propaganda, and refusing to vote for, and interfering with any measure that will directly impact the profits of the global 'Energy' cabal.
They don't really need to 'know' anything or even be well informed - If they lean in with their pockets open - Someone will fill them.
A rail system, national highways, a dam, and a canal. Can't afford has never been an issue before.
ReplyDeleteRich LaDuca Yep, I agree.
ReplyDeleteThey aren't out of touch, they understand what they must say to get re-elected.

The only reason progress or change doesn't happen faster is that powerful, wealthy, entrenched old technologies and industries resist and block anything that competes with their product or service for as long as they possible can. Greed is more powerful than fear. The most effective way to bring about change is to inspire others from their perspective, not yours. It is not about where you want to go, but where they want to go. The window to the mind opens from the inside. This will help explain what I am trying to communicate. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2016/05/160505085721.htm
ReplyDeletePrecisely why I support Bernie Sanders. He's the ONLY one with the will and fortitude to take on the fossil fuel corporations.

ReplyDeleteWe are more powerful than Bernie or any politician in bringing about economic change. What we spend our money on will have more impact on the success or failure of any industry. To the degree we are successful at inspiring others to follow our lead, change will happen. That is one reason I drive an EV and install solar technology. Sell the collective benefit, not the fear.
Ole Olson No, he's not the only one.
