Heh. I have a good friend who's one of the best sword fighters in Carolingia . We both took fencing in college, but he never stopped.
ReplyDeleteIn a mass battle like that, I don't get it either. That's just bludgeoning and chaos. It's not even in open territory, so it's not like they are even doing an historical reinactment. In a one on one fight where there's more chance for individual skill to be on display, however, that is interesting.

ReplyDeleteBrad D I agree...I don't see where there's any "skill" (e.g., swordplay) involved. This is just brute force, but clad in armor. Heck, most of the takedowns are more like tackles than actual combat.
