ReplyDeleteOdd how in my city (Vallejo, CA), where the school district was run into the ground (by a political crony who later became vice-mayor) is getting a charter school built.

It's the ALEC playbook - defund and cripple public education to the point where no one wants it anymore, and then "replace" it with private schools. No central coordination, no proper government oversight. Look at what happened in New Orleans after Katrina: the public school system was completely dismantled by disaster capitalists, and replaced with mostly garbage.
