I blame the Japanese. They drop like half the letters when they borrow a word from English. We say personal computer and abbreviate it PC; they say “pasucon”.

ReplyDeleteMorio Murase The Welsh only got the consonants because the French nicked the vowels first.
ReplyDeleteThe French waste them anyway, the last syllable in many words are mostly silent.
