ReplyDeleteThis is true ,politicians that don't know the science get in and become the monkey wrench in the system. And very few know more than a 5th grader when it comes to climate change, and now the situation in the United States looks bleak, with climate change deniers in the drivers seat. So ,instead of looking for solutions, look instead for an acceleration of carbon emissions from the US ,the bottom line speaks louder than words.
Stupid leaders can destroy empires. That is why there should be a higher emphasis on science education rather then birth right or skin color or religious or gender requirement.

Models do change science is a process. It is the same process as life saving drugs are discovering. If you take these drugs you are benefitting from science discovery. This same process is used in biology, ecology and climate science.

The data leads to discovery how planets rotate or relativity. These were test and proved to be true such co2 is changing the planet. This has been known of since 1800s and tested since the 60s.
The results are that humans activity is causing climate change. This is observed and test and peered reviewed. It is now a fact much like relativity is.
ExxonMobil's own scientists were reporting climate change results in 70s according to documents.
Science is a process to remove human bias and create experiments to show were data leads. Gravity, micro technology find in computers, engineering of buildings, dark matter, drugs impacts of climate change ..
There is no climate change cabal to hinder oil companies...It is the same discovery process as the big bang or cancer treatments
We can change as a society and as we removed lead in product s or hindered cigarette smoking or change / adapt to climate change.

That said, as for climate change, between 1991 and 2012 there have been just under 14,000 articles in scientific journals on climate change. 24 of the 13,950 articles, 0.17% or 1 in 581, clearly reject global warming or endorse a cause other than CO2 emissions for observed warming. As an aside my very mediocre Master's thesis to date has over double that number of citations.

There is a great deal of science that never sees the light of day, and some amazing insights ignored. If one were to spend the time to read research and call the researchers to discuss their research, one might discover admitted need for further research. Or have you done what I do (and I do more than I wrote).

BTW David Wheeler there never was an email scam. That was a myth, FAKE NEWS that was created by REICH Wing Nuts.
To explain, a departmental investigation at East Anglia, a University-wide investigation, and a Ministerial committee all investigated the issue and found nothing wrong, and no collusion.
Moreover, investigations by a British Parliament special commission, the University of Pennsylvania, the American Academy of Sciences all found similar results.
The only criticism that they actually did lay on those accused was that they played fast and loose with some statistics.
