Don Blankenship sentenced to serve time
At least he's convicted of a crime
Greed killed 29
A year and a fine
It just seems too little for this slime

Can you believe that he has never apologized? Any decent person would have personally visited each of those families and, at least, talked with them. He hasn't said a single word to any of them.
ReplyDeleteI'm still surprised you get people like this, they show complete and utter no remorse for the actions. I they if you look at his brain, it would similar to a serial killer...
ReplyDeleteThat's under $10,000 and 15 days in jail per life lost. That's chicken feed.
ReplyDeleteIf he was on Wall Street he wouldn't have gotten anything.
ReplyDeleteHave you read Grisham's book, "The Appeal"? That very scenario played out here in West Virginia in 2007. Blankenship was sued for $50 million and the judgement went against him. So he appealed the decision. Meanwhile, he spent several million to manipulate the WV Supreme Court. Then he kept appealing the case until it reached the Supreme Court, where it was overturned. There are photos of him wining and dining a justice on the French Riviera. The fact that he manipulated the court is not in question. The justices got busted but he didn't. Imagine that.
ReplyDeleteBut rather than tell his story myself, there's a very good article that covers it. It's rather long but by the end you'll know exactly who this predator is. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-dark-lord-of-coal-country-20101129
Phillip Landmeier The very definition of predatory capitalism, or at least a predatory capitalist.
