Today, I'm unveiling my Tesla Model S in LEGO [1:16 scale]

I packed in a bunch of actual Model S features:
• Hood opens to reveal frunk (front trunk)
• Swooping roofline with panoramic sunroof
• Front doors open & front door handles slide out
• Front seats recline
• Front center armrests slide back to reveal cup holders
• Rear hatch opens
• Optional 3rd row children’s seat folds out

I spent far too much time on this MOC, so I hope you'll go over to LEGO Ideas and support it: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/137456

Oh, and if you wouldn't mind, please share this. My kids are reeeally hoping to be able to see an official LEGO kit of it, and getting to 10,000 votes on Ideas is going to require all the help I can muster. Thanks!

  1. Any feedback from Chris McVeigh, The Brothers Brick, Beyond the Brick, Kevin A. Hinkle, or GiocoVisione would be welcome and appreciated.

  2. Great Job! I've already seen this in so many websites. If scale didn't matter, you could have used an axle to open the rear door. But that would obviously make the door bigger.

  3. Joshua Varghese Thanks. An early version had 4 opening doors, but it was just too unstable and fragile...you couldn't pick it up without it twisting and falling apart.

  4. This is a really good looking Tesla Craig

  5. Craig Froehle Do you think you could continue to build these types of cars but get bigger?

  6. Eddy Serna I could, but I don't know what the point would be. This is about as big as you can get using bricks (i.e., not Technics beams) and still have something that you could "play" with. How big are you thinking?

  7. Craig Froehle I'm thinking like about the size of a table like about 4 ft long?

  8. Eddy Serna Ha ha ha...sure, I could build that, for maybe $8,000-$10,000.

Now I'm doubly intrigued!
