Which of these TV dramas has the best opening credits?
Consider imagery, music...the whole experience.

Daredevil is a close second, but I gave my vote to GoT.
ReplyDeleteVikings is another good opening credits show.
ReplyDeleteI always liked "The Fall Guy" opening. I know it's action adventure, but it had its fair share of drama. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dj9ev40C30M
ReplyDeleteI only watch 2 of the above GoT & the X-Files. GoT is cool, but I always fastforward because life is too short.
Since I only know the X Files...
ReplyDeleteSam Palahnuk It's neither exclusively better nor exclusively worse; there are pros and cons and no one person can experience both.
ReplyDeleteI really like Daredevil's opening, but GoT is also right there (it's more creative, certainly, but I didn't like the depiction of the wall)
ReplyDeleteOh no, the greatest intro ever is Airwolf. If only the show had lived up to the opening promise... https://youtu.be/aqcQUmKJEK8
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteBest of all time: Star Trek- The Next Generation.
ReplyDeleteAnthony Barber what about The A Team?
ReplyDeleteI'd make room for things like "Dexter" and "True Blood".
ReplyDeleteSam Palahnuk One con is that you lose a connection with others. We live in a society and it can be useful/helpful to know about what other people are experiencing (in this case, popular culture). A pro, of course, is more time to spend on other pursuits.
ReplyDeleteSam Palahnuk It's hard to miss what you don't know exists. And that's my point -- whether one takes a path toward more social awareness or towards more social isolation, you can't know what the other path would've offered you, either good or bad, because you didn't experience it.
ReplyDeleteThere are times when I think paying attention to social products (TV shows, popular culture, music, etc.) is a waste of time. There are other times when I'm sincerely glad I knew about something because it brings me joy or helps me connect with someone (or both). I suspect extremism in either direction is probably sub-optimal.
