While black kids are shot by police

While black kids are shot by police
These yahoos still sit there in peace
The Feds' nonchalance:
An unjust response?
Are terrorists catch-and-release?

  1. It's the approach with black which is wrong, not the other.
No need to use violence if they don't shoot or surrender. Arrest and psychiatric hospital for 6 months minimum.

  2. Olivier Malinur these idiots have made a point diametrically opposed to their intent. They have drawn out conversation about our militarist response to citizen protests. And also about our willingness to set idiotic minimum prison sentences that are good only for the corporations running the prisons, which is part of their point.

  3. The land should be ours, held in common
Shouts the out-of-state rancher named Ammon
    In outrage they stand
    Though it isn't 'their' land
But next time, they should stock up on Ramen

  4. Yeah, I'm not advocating going in guns blazing, but still - Tamir Rice gets two seconds, and these clowns have had almost a week, not to mention press opportunities.

  5. Bob Lai Exactly. Black kids are presumed guilty and summarily executed. These guys are demonstrably guilty, yet have zero interaction with authorities??

  6. Looking at that photo quickly I thought he as leading the guy out by the hand. Fitting considering how lax they've been with this whole stand off.

I have a feeling: "boy will be boys." is what they're saying behind closed doors.

  7. Albert Yates Don't be fooled...every one of those three guys in front is a terrorist occupier.

  8. This whole protesting while armed and going so far as to threaten use of those arms is terrible precedent. I say we send some females in that are armed for protection but still holstered. We tell these nuts they surrender or the troops are coming in 10 minutes. Then we sentence them for armed terrorism. There's a lot of that I don't like much but the a holes are forcing this mess.

  9. Jim Scholfield I don't understand the desire to "send some females in" -- why wouldn't the FBI just go in with their field agents already on site?

  10. Craig Froehle women would shame them and still be able to dominate them just fine. The use of guns would almost surely happen if there's just testosterone. If we aren't careful these crazies will get just what they want, a fight or the appearance of one.

  11. Bob Lai  It is fact that the US is significantly racist. The question is, though: what is the best strategy for dealing with these deluded yahoos?  I'm pretty sure that the police response in the Tamir Rice case doesn't give guidance that any sane person would ever want to follow.

  12. Again, I'm not advocating a 'guns blazing' situation, as Tamir Rice and other police shootings seem to establish as standard operating procedure.

But I do believe there should be a more forceful approach. Block the roads, kill the power, isolate the location, restrict media access. Back when it was Cliven Bundy, some of daddy's supporters ran off and shot several people, including two off-duty police officers.

Especially the last one. Stop giving Ammunition Bundy a free podium to spew his 'constitutional freedom' bullcrap.

  13. I think they are gonna let them make fools of themselves and go home. They're doing a pretty good job of that as is. It still ticks me off that there aren't tanks and pepper spray toting cops moving in.

  14. I'd replace all the media with federal agents and arrest Bundy when he steps up to the mic.

  15. If black people invaded a duck refuge in the middle of winter and were immediately attacked by the Feds, I'd believe the case.

  16. After 5 months of cold and starvation, the famished remaining 6 members of the group, driven to extremes by the constant ridicule, commit suicide.  Obama goes on TV to say "I am sorry to say that despite our best efforts to resolve the situation with no loss of life, 6 members of the Bundy Bunch elected to end their lives in a sad and ultimately futile gesture..."

  17. If these guys had gone in wearing turbans, they'd have gotten snipers in there and taken them out within an hour of the initial confrontation, and we would only have heard about it as a five minute blurb on CNN.

Since they're wearing cowboy hats, however, we're instead going to address this delicately and try to avoid a violent outcome.

So that's the lesson here, folks.  If you want to commit terrorism, make sure you're wearing the right hat.

  18. Brad D it does have to do with the hats of course but unlike most protests these guys chose a place nearly no one cares about at this time of year.

If these guys had any real concern for the supposed cause or any real desire other than personal publicity they'd have protested somewhere where their presence would cause some concern.

They knew that in this place they could act out their Vanilla ISIS rally and get away with it for some time. Only long enough to need snacks though, they don't plan to stay long.

  19. ashley bateson Think how many fewer police killings we'd have if every law enforcement agency took this same approach when it was sensible to do so.

  20. Craig Froehle I agree. Right now these asshats aren't hurting or, really, threatening much of anything. If we can save on ammo by not taking them out, just letting them defeat themselves, it's a win.
